In 1998 Thamar Hampe graduated from the Brussels Circus School (Ecole Nationale des Arts Du Cirque, now known as E.S.A.C.) with a professional diploma in circus arts.
She specialised at the school in slackwire walking; later also training in aerial acrobatics on the Corde Lisse (vertical rope).
There followed international engagements and tours, with such companies as: «Compagnie Catastrophe» (Belgium),
«Circus Monti» (Switzerland), «Cirque de Martinique» (The Caribbean), and the puppet theatre ensemble
«Babelfish Company» (Berlin, Germany).
Today she works under the name «rope theatre» as an independent Varieté artiste, ropewalker, aerialist and performer in dance and physical theatre.
In her performances she skillfully and successfully blends her circus techniques with elements of clown, theatre and choreographical work.
